My passion in the kitchen

Welcome to my kitchen, filled with the warm homemade aromas of baking cookies and cakes.My name is Tania and my passion is of course, baking. I started out learning how to bake years ago while giving my mom a helping hand in her kitchen. Baking is a gift passed down from generation to generation, learning by sharing elbow space with Mom and getting in the way with a smile on my face. I had learned to appreciate how much time Mom had given up of her own in order to spend those precious moments with myself and my other siblings in the kitchen. I owe Mom and Grandma the love and thanks for teaching me the art of baking. I enjoy the recipes I've used and always looking for new ones to experiment with, so I may in turn share the goodies with others.

Cake flavors and pricing

   I became interested in decorating cakes 15 years ago. I took 3 short courses in cake decorating and had fun making cakes for family and friends in the neighborhood. It wasn't enough to satisfy my lust to learn more. I wanted to expand my knowledge and create fancier and also more creative cakes than the average all-occassion cakes. Just from the cake pans or cookies and whirlwind of activity with decorating cakes, my own kids stay out of the kitchen when they know how involved I am.

 I took another course in fondant/gumpaste cake decorating. The basics are easy and alot of practice is necessary. There's always room for more learning and you're only limited by your own imagination. Since I don't have the sketching talent, I have now included a projector, an air brush, and a specialized scanner for cakes that allow photos to be transfered onto a cake. This allows you, the customer, to design a more personalized cake for the one you love and care about on that special occassion. I have included photos of cakes that I've designed and hope the variety will give you some ideas of how special and fun it can be.

The batter flavors available include marble, chocolate, yellow, white, almond, banana, orange, strawberry,red velvet,and spice.I will also bake a certain flavor of choice if it's not listed.

My cakes have several choices in the icings. The most popular is the sweet buttercream followed by the whip cream style that is not as sweet, my semi-sweet icing. The final choice is the rolled fondant**  (which creates the smooth covering and allows the decorator to expand the variety of specialty cakes).

 --------Each drawn picture costs $8.00 extra for all cakes, or otherwise decorated with roses at normal charge. The next couple of pages will hold a cookie list and photos of my cakes that I would like to share with you. I am hoping that you'll find your favorite type of cookie to order and share a tray with others. Cakes are also fun to design and can also be ordered 7days in advance along with the cookies. They are both baked fresh to each order and since I bake out of my own kitchen,the advanced notice is appreciated.
